Markdown is here
Markdown support is here!
Finally we have some formatting on writing sessions.
While it is not a full implementation of the extended syntax, it does offer enough to make the stories look richer and more organized. Nothing is going to stop you from adding advanced syntax into those texts, but they will not be rendered.
Features:
- Rendering of basic Markdown syntax like headings, bold, italic, lists and blockquotes.
- Import MD files, but only for viewing
- Export your completed stories as MD files.
Limitations:
- In a text block you can only write headings level 3 or lower. Headings 1 and 2 are reserver for the story title and capter titles, respectively. While limiting, this is a conscious decision to keep a clear structure within a story.
- Links and images will not be rendered, but you can still add them. Once you complete that story and export it, that content will be in the MD file. This kind of feature isn’t part of what this app aims to be.
While adding Markdown elements was possible before, the rendering part was not there. Figuring out how to add that rendering within the context of this app was the tricky part.
